Nevado de Colima National Park

Two volcanoes are located within the boundaries of this park, the extinct Nevado de Colima and the still active el Volcán de Fuego (Volcano of Fire).

The Volcán de Fuego, which erupts only rarely, is a favorite among mountain climbers and is 12,625 feet high.

The hills of the park are covered with forests of oak and fir and are home to many species of birds and reptiles.

The park is located about 10 miles from Colima and covers 54,834 acres. Lodging and other services are available in Colima City, and Coyutlan Beach is just south of the park.
